A beautiful, timeless song that is so appropriate for this theme. Enjoy!

KIndness Quotes
Here are more quotes on kindness that could be journal writing prompts, or just great words to think about. Most were take from Mrs. Andrews Second Grade Kindness page on Facebook.
If you are really thankful, what do you do? You share. W. Clement Stone
You had 86,400 second today. Have you used one to say "thank you" to someone?
You'll see it when you believe it.
Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life, but define yourself. Harvey S.Firestone

Sharing The Golden Rule
At 3:00 on September 2nd, our entire school read The Golden Rule by Ilene Cooper. This was our first "One School-One Book" project. Did you enjoy the book? Do you think the illustrations helped to show the book's message? Did you have any guests in your room during the reading time? What is one way you can follow The Golden Rule at school?
A Poem by Mattie Stephanek
Mattie Stephanek was a young person who had to use a wheelchair. He could not run or play sports, but he was an award winning poet. Here is one of his poems on kindness. Tell what this poem makes you think about. What are some nice things you can do for others?
Believing for the Journey
Every day,
Everyone in the world should do at least
One thing nice for others.
Doing so can help each person
Believe in himself of herself
More fully, and
Give confidence that may
Inspire each person
To do more and
More good things
For the self,
For others, and
For the world.
Those positive attitudes
And actions
Can be the first of many steps
Towards the journey
For word peace.
And world peace,
Harmony and
Confidence are essential
For our future.
